Celebrate the rich tapestry of Indian stories on the big screen at the Indian Short Film Night presented by Ekānta Media Works. This diverse showcase of short films provides a captivating glimpse into the lives of the Indian diaspora in New Zealand and around the world.
Several of these films have journeyed across the globe and will be making their debut in New Zealand. Often, these authentic desi tales struggle to secure ample representation in mainstream media and cinema.
While the primary focus is on the Indian community, the narratives presented are inherently universal – encompassing the experiences of first dates and loves, heartbreaks and hope, last moments and old promises, and the triumphant spirit of humanity over tragedy.
This event serves as an opportunity to champion and applaud independent (and local) filmmakers and creatives. Presenting films with a distinct perspective is a formidable task, and providing a platform where such unique works are showcased is a privilege. A special acknowledgment goes to the Albert-Eden Local Board for generously funding this event.
Thanks to this support, attendance to the event is entirely FREE. However, contributions (koha) from the community towards future events and projects will be warmly welcomed. Every dollar makes a difference, so explore the available options when reserving your tickets. We extend our gratitude and look forward to seeing you there.

A Suit We Wear
Tamashbeen
