Same Street, Different Shoes Three intimate video portraits of the growing creative scene on Dominion Road. Emerging documentary filmmaker Kiran Patel brings you behind the scenes of three creative spaces on Dominion Road, sharing the stories and experiences of their respective owners being part of Dominion Road’s growing creative culture. Kiran’s filmmaking celebrates the in-between, the candid everyday moments you wouldn’t otherwise see, connecting you to the stories in a way you weren’t before. Kiran has a deep connection to the street, with family history dating back to the early 70’s when his grandparents opened a restaurant ‘Raj Bombay’ on Dominion Road, and having personally lived, worked and created a space of his own - MoveSpace - in that very same building. Same Street, Different Shoes is a celebration of Dominion Road now, and an intimate look into what it may become. Before the screening, there will be a short welcome by Kiran, and following the films a short Q&A with the filmmaker and the subjects of the films. After the event please join us for some drinks and nibbles at MoveSpace from 5:45pm.
These films have been supported and funded by the Albert Eden Local Board.
